A 130 m2 addition to the existing heritage church. The 3-storey addition included extension of the 2nd and ground floor seating area, a new entrance lobby and exit vestibules. The existing balcony seating, narthex and chancel were renovated. The existing mechanical & electrical systems were modified within the constraints and limitations of working within an existing heritage building. Care was taken to ensure limited modification of existing architecture and any new systems had to respect the heritage nature of the building. This made for a challenging project during both design and construction. A feasibility report of the mechanical & electrical scope was provided prior to commencement of the design project. The project received Certificate of Merit by the Ottawa Architectural Conservation Awards.
