A new 3,000 m² area facility completed in 2006 consisting of a single pad ice rink, public locker rooms, showers and washrooms, coaches offices, a concession area and management offices.
In 2009, the design-build team was re-hired to twin the rink. The twinned rink including change rooms, seating and conference room were designed and was built in six (6) months.
Engineering services included concept, design, construction document production and construction review of the mechanical & electrical systems.
Key energy efficiency measures include energy recovery ventilation in change rooms, high efficiency condensing hot water heaters for domestic and zamboni services, low-e arena ceilings and walls, and high efficiency lighting systems with occupancy sensors.
